Carlos Ramirez, PE, PTOE served as President of Tampa Bay ITE (TBITE) for two years in 2015 and 2016.  While sitting as TBITE Vice President, Carlos took over the role of President due to an unexpected departure of the current president.  In 2015, Carlos started the TBITE technical committee to get more volunteers involved with the chapter. Carlos leadership was instrumental in the development and growth of the local chapter which eventually became the Greater Tampa Section (GTSITE).  Carlos remains actively involved as the GTSITE Administrator as this marks his 9^th year on the executive board.  In addition to serving on the TBITE and GTSITE board, Carlos served on the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Tampa Bay Florida Section board from 2014 to 2021. Carlos received the ASHE Tampa Bay the President Award three times in recognition for his dedication.

Outside of ITE and ASHE, Carlos volunteers on other boards always giving back to the community including the Hillsborough County MPO’s Livable Roadways Committee, the City of Tampa’s West Tampa Community Redevelopment Area, where he serves as Chair of the Citizen Advisory Committee and the Infrastructure Subcommittee.  Carlos is a partner at Garrett Engineering Group where he mentors the next generation of transportation professionals.
